This is a tragic song of the defeated. After the end of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), the defenders of the defeated Republican government were understandably sentenced to imprisonment, and along with their bodies, their voices were also imprisoned. The film mainly tells the tragic story of a group of women imprisoned during the bloody repression and revenge against the opposition led by Franco. It portrays a series of women with different backgrounds and personalities, depicting not only their suffering in prison but also reflecting their heroic spirit to fight against the reactionary authorities to the end. However, among these battle-hardened fighters, some were executed, some died from illness, and very few were fortunate enough to be released from prison. Therefore, they raised a resounding slogan: to survive, to tell the history, to shout out. Thus, the "Sleeping Voice" was born.
