Single mother Milia moves into a supposedly haunted apartment with her infant daughter, and at midnight, the "big ghost" accompanied by the "little ghost" indeed comes to disturb the new tenants. This is the latest work by Italian director Alessandro Capitani, showcased in the Venice Days section of the 2021 Venice Film Festival. The film tells the stories of less glamorous characters in a warm and bright way: a single immigrant mother facing domestic abuse who has nowhere to complain yet strives to be strong, an unemployed father who is homeless and maintains a beautiful world in his son's eyes through various kind lies, and the righteous help of a neighbor who is despised by his children. All of these are defined by the director as "new realism fantasy," aiming to express that despite hardships, one can still anticipate a happy life.
