The framework of the story is largely faithful to the original work, but there are significant embellishments added to the characters and the development of the story. For instance, Dominique is the third daughter of the royal family in the original version, but in the anime version, she has been made the eldest daughter, and there are strong expressions of the bond between the sisters.
