The story takes place at the end of the Qing Dynasty, where the great detective Sherlock Holmes (Fan Aili played by) and his assistant Watson (Xu Zhongquan played by) come to China for a visit and stay at the Xianlai Inn. Unexpectedly, the inn is heavily guarded by officials and soldiers, creating a tense and oppressive atmosphere. It turns out that a batch of priceless jewels has gone missing, and the general responsible for escorting them, General Buke, has been found decapitated. Therefore, Holmes and Watson decide to stay and attempt to solve the case.
